Today we are very excited to be coming to you from the 30th annual FQ Story Home Tour. This is the only holiday historic home tour in Phoenix and this year marks the tour's 30th anniversary.

This two day event began on Saturday, December 6th with an evening of caroling and strolling through illuminated roads to see dozens of remarkable homes from the early 1900's.

We are here today to take a look at some of the great homes and beautiful architecture that this place has to offer.

This is an area that is different from most areas of Phoenix. Much of the homes in this area were built in the 1920's and 1930's and their general design is heavily influenced by Spanish architecture. There are a lot of Spanish colonial homes in this area, in addition to a number of Spanish palm trees, which are not native to the area, but planted here by the original settlers.

Sharon Honeycutt, who has been involved with the home tour for more than 40 years, loves showing off her neighborhood to the masses each year.

"This is a great event because it helps promote the neighborhood, and helps people realize that these are historic homes worth saving," Honeycutt said.

In addition to the Spanish colonial homes, there are a number of traditional adobe-style homes and duplexes, which sell very quickly once they go on the market because of how great an area this is.
