Hey everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today I am here at the beautiful Burton Barr Central Library in Downtown Phoenix. I am here talking with Michelle Meeks, the manager of "The Friends' Place" store here in the library.

"The Friends' Place" is a store located inside the library and is a piece of "Friends of the Phoenix", a nonprofit that helps raise money for library programs and literacy outreach throughout the community. It has been in existence since the 1970s and, in that time, they have spearheaded many great programs and events that have increased literacy in our community.

At "The Friends' Place," they keep an inventory of the best donations from the community and the library. They then sell these books, and the profits go towards helping put on additional events and programs for the community.

To learn more about "The Friends' Place" and their mission, visit their site, www.plfriends.org or give them a call at (602) 534-5208. If you don't have time to make it down for a visit, you can visit booksforgood.org, which is their online bookstore with over 230,000 titles.

If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call or send me an email. I love this organization and am excited to see what they have in store for the future. This is a great opportunity to spend some quality time at a beautiful library, all while helping the community.
